A1 Licence
The open road, the wind in your hair, the exhilaration of being on a motorcycle. It's a great experience, but you'll need to first obtain your A1 license.
The A1 is the first step on the bike licensing ladder. It allows you to ride motorcycles and mopeds that are 125cc or larger and has a the maximum power output of 11kW. It is available at the age of 17, and is a great option for those looking to start their motorbike journey in an easy way.
To get an A1 license, you must complete the Compulsory Base Training (CBT) and pass a test on theory and an exam that is two-parts. The CBT course is essential to motorcycle training and prepares you for both the theory and practical test. You can book your theory test online through the official website of the Government and use this site to verify or alter your appointment and even rebook it if needed.
You will need a motorcycle instructor to accompany you during your A1 test. The test should take about 20 minutes, and will consist of the modules 1 and 2. Module 1 is based at the training center, and will focus on off-road maneuvers, such as controlled stops, a slalom and a figure of eight. The remainder of the test will be performed on the road and will concentrate on your ability to manage a motorbike when it is moving at high speeds.
Module 2 will be based on riding a motorcycle through traffic and managing junctions. You will be assessed on your ability to follow road signs, as well as comprehend and apply road rules. You will also have to show your ability to ride at low speeds and do slow control exercises like turning left, going up and down hills and U-turns.

Module 1 of your A2 motorcycle test is a car park course where you will be taught how to control the bike with a slow speed, manoeuvring and emergency stops. The next step is the road portion of the test. In this section, you will have to demonstrate hazard-avoidance exercises and road positioning. You will also have to perform lifesaver checks and keep a two-second gap to the vehicle ahead of you. You could make minor errors up to a total of 10 points. This could include not using your mirrors and failing to maintain the proper distance.
After passing both modules of the A2 motorcycle test you can ride any motorcycle in the A2 category. This includes the well-known Honda CB500F or Yamaha MT-07 model. Although these bikes aren't especially powerful, they are more than capable of handling the speed limits and provide a comfortable, enjoyable ride.

A3 Licence
The A2 Licence is a natural advancement from the CBT and lets riders progress onto larger bikes with more power. The A2 Licence also has additional benefits that aren't available with the CBT. For example, you can ride on motorways or transport passengers. It is possible to make the transition from CBT to A2 by having additional training completed and passing the relevant practical exams. The A2 licence is valid for two years, and can be upgraded to a full, unrestricted A licence after two years.
The first step to obtain your A2 license is to successfully pass the Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) and Motorcycle Theory Test. Once you have completed these requirements, you will be able to take the Module 1 and Module 2 practical tests. The module 1 practical test involves demonstrating your ability to ride safely in a closed-circuit, while the module 2 test consists of maneuvers on the open road.

The A1 and A2 licences are different from the rest of the motorbike licences as they are restricted by weight-to-power ratio and not engine cc's. Even bikes with 600cc capacity can be A2 conforming if equipped with restrictor kits. It is important to remember that not all bikes that claim to be A2 compliant are actually A2 compliant. A4 Licence
The A4 Licence allows drivers to drive vehicles that have four wheels or more. This licence covers trucks, buses, and coaches. This licence also covers vehicles that transport dangerous goods. To be eligible for a licence drivers must pass an identity check. The Digital Driving Licence displays important information, such as the date of issuance as well as classes of vehicles that the motorist is certified to drive.
In order to get an A1-A4 licence the driver must complete training at a local transportation office or an approved driving school. They must also take a physical exam.
